History

My name is Raymond Pierangeli and I am a second generation Italian. Although all four of my grandparents were born in Italy, my primary interest at this time is in identifying the origin of our family name.

In November of 1999, my wife and I went to Italy to join our son Robert, who was already in Italy and speaks fluent Italian, and we visited the birth place of my grandfather Pierangeli. We were successful in tracing his maternal side back three generations and were able to determine my great grandfather Pierangeli's birthplace. In November of 2001 I returned to Italy and joined my son Robert to continue my research and was able to trace my grandfather's paternal side back three generations. Here is what I know so far:

bulletI was born in Chicago Illinois in 1941, grew up in Kenosha Wisconsin and currently reside in New Berlin Wisconsin.
bulletMy father was Gino Pierangeli. He was born in Kenosha Wisconsin in 1916 and he died in 1996.
bulletMy grandfather was Ladislao Pierangeli. He was born in Balzo Frazionione Di Montegallo, Italy in 1892. This is a mountain town outside of Ascoli Piceno. He came to America in the early 1900s and went initially to Pennsylvania to live with one of his uncles. After a few days in the coal mines with his uncle he decided to move to Kenosha Wisconsin where an Aunt lived and he opened a grocery store. He ran the store "Pierangeli and Sons" until he retired in 1960.
bulletMy great grandfather was Filippo Pierangeli. He was born in the city of Potenza Picena in 1849. He married Celia Branconi and they had four children. Two boys, Ladislao (Lallo) and Amedeo (Herman) and two girls, Adorina and Letiza. Filippo's father was Nicola. Nicola was born in 1820 in Civitanova and married Rosa Coppari in Potenza Picena on January 12, 1846. Nicola's father was Fillipo.

Please take the time to review the remainder of the web site. I would appreciate any feedback you may have about the site or any information you may have about the Pierangeli family name.
